During his first music education in his native city Kirow (Russia) Jaroslav Novosyolov was a three-time scholarship holder of the Cultural Office of the Kirov City Administration, winner of the competition "Russia's Young Talents" in Moscow and first prize winner in several competitions in piano, composition as well as olympiads in music theory and musicology.
Novosyolov's further studies include graduation from the Rimsky-Korsakov Music College, studies at the Sankt-Petersbourg Conservatory (prof. Oleg Malov) and the Bachelor programme in Detmold (prof. Hartmut Schneider).
In Germany he became a scholarship holder of the Sibylle and Hannes Frank Foundation Scholarship and three times scholarship holder of the Society of Friends and Supporters in Detmold.
Among many other things, Novosyolov performed with orchestra in the Mariinksy Theater, at the St. Petersbourg Festival of contemporary music, in Konzerthaus Berlin, in the Konzerthaus Detmold, Sendesaal Bremen and Festival Voices in Gut Holzhausen. Novosyolov performed several times and recorded from memory "Lemma-Icon-Epigram" by Brian Ferneyhough, "Intermezzi" by JΓΆrg Widmann and is constantly expanding his repertoire in the field of contemporary music and rarely performed compositions in general.
"His playing is technically confident. [It] captivates with softness, harmony, the nobility of the sound, which cannot be taught, which comes, apparently, from the depths of the soul..."
- Moscow pianist Vasilij Ermakov on Jaroslav Novosyolov's playing
